Best one yet

I got back from my school's See You At The Pole about 20 minutes ago, and let me just say, the Spirit of God really will show up wherever you ask Him to! I ended up getting to school around 6:35 or so, and it was still dark, and I was the only one there...kind of daunting. Regardless of what was going on around me (or rather, what wasn't), I pulled out my guitar and just started worshiping. I remember thinking to myself, "Crap..I really hope today is SYATP, because if its not, then I'm just gonna look like an idiot out here by myself." However, as I was thinking that I realized that what I was thinking was wrong...I don't need any excuse to stand outside my school and worship God!
So I kept worshiping as teachers and students walked by looking at me, and then some came and stood next to me. Soon enough we had a whole circle around our flagpole singing to God and just standing in his prescence. It was so good! The prayers that came out of that circle had such power and purpose! I have never felt as much peace at a SYATP as I did today. The atmosphere was just so pure and awesome!
God is good!!!!

Senior year rocks!!

Alright, let me just say, its awesome to have the Spirit of God with you anywhere you go...including English class!
I was sitting in class today working on the start of a personal narrative paper, and my teacher said it was ok if we listened to music, so since I was working on the good 'ol macbook, I plugged in my earbuds and put on a worship playlist that I made for my buddy luke the other night. Once the music started, I was almost immediately put into a deep place of worship, but the really cool part is that I was totally flowing with what I was writing!!!!
I never thought that I could have such focus on something school related while I was worshiping, but I did, and it was awesome! I decided to show my teacher what I had so far, and she seemed very pleased, and said that she could see that I was really honing in on what the paper should look like.

But this is only the first part of the story.

Right now I'm in my electronics engineering class, and I texted my buddy Luke (mentioned above ^^^) and asked him if he was listening to the mix I made him since he forgot to listen to it the other night, and he texted me back saying "Yeah. The cory asbury song and jason upton songs are sooo powerful." It turns out that Luke was in a state of worship as well!

WHATTT!!!!

That same spirit of worship that was in me during my first block class (Luke was in this class too, sitting right in front of me) had transferred to Luke and was with him during second block! And now I'm worshiping while writing this blog!!

GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!!

"Back After Popular Demand..."

AHHH!!!! So its been 46 days, 6 hours and 42 minutes since I've updated this blog! I know, I know, I'm a terrible person, but what can I say? Well, nothing I suppose. I guess I'll just get started on writing what I want to write.

So the school year has started, and its great so far. I'm a senior, which is awesome, and my classes seem pretty easy (so far). I'm stoked about the year so far because I'm becoming friends with alot more people in my class, as opposed to previous years when I was really only friends with upperclassmen. I'm really excited to see how everything with school pans out..its going to be exciting!

Ok, so enough about school. Teen L.I.V.E. has just been amazing since I last posted! In the Wild was a huge success, and God showed up so strongly through the whole event. The worship was incredible; just so intimate and pure, it was unbelieveable! And In The Wild was just the start of what is happening now.

It seems as though whatever God has been a brewin' around the country is finally starting to really manifest. Recently, Asia and I have been getting together on tuesday nights to just have an intimate worship time before anything gets started. We figured that since the band had been on a break to re-focus, it would be good if we kind of started over, with this new "band" having a heart of worship before anything else.

And that exploded!

The first tuesday we got together, Asia and I ended up playing until the beginning of Genesis (only stopping because our hands had cramped up). The next tuesdays were just awesome, and now we've started to do worship in Teen L.I.V.E. and the atmosphere has just been amazing. I'm really starting to get a taste of what true worship is, and its so exciting!

Good things are happening. Better things are coming. Go God!

What does Andrew do on a tuesday night durign summer?

So its about 4 o'clock in the morning (3:58 to be exact) and I've realized that my posts have been rather scarce, so I'm going to update...

My mom just told me to go to sleep, but I'm still too wired from all the mountain dew that I found in the pantry downstairs about two hours ago when I went on a clandestine mission to the kitchen for some munchies. The night has been fun so far. It all started with Teen L.I.V.E, which was a blast I must say, then it went on to playing Nazi Zombies online with Erwin and Todd. After that ended, I decided that I owed it to Alley to at least spend a little time on the phone with her, although I think she got the short end of the stick, because I decided to go a little bit early... sorry babe :/

After our lovely co
nversation, I thought that I would catch up on the only girly show that I watch, the Secret Life of the American Teenager...yea yea yea say what you want, I really don't care.. I find it interesting. After giving ABC Family about 45 minutes of my life, I proceeded to again play some Nazi Zombies, although this time by myself...

--Warning-- It is not enjoyable to play Nazi Zombies alone at night--

So to solve the previously stated issue, I put some coldplay on while I shot the guts out of evil zombies that wanted to steal my awesome looks. Those of you that follow me on twitter (although almost nobody does :/) will see when you wake up at a decent hour that I mentioned that. All the while, the best guard dog in the world (see above picture ^^^) was making sure that nobody stole my bed or comfy covers... So after getting pretty far in my zombie conquest, I got hit in the face with one too many of the nasty guys and fell down, ending my game. I then just decided to try my hand at playing against other xbox lovers and see how their game was against mine at 3 AM. I actually did really well...actually, the best I have ever done... it must have been that mountain dew...that stuff must do something to you...oh well.

Now I'm laying in bed typing the last of this, which has taken about 25 mins to do..scratch that, 26 mins, and now I'm going to let Rick Pino put me to sleep. Goodnight all...or is that good morning?

A Smile a day....

I find it interesting how easily a simple smile can affect someone. At work today, there was this lady who came in looking really...glum. I kindly asked her what I could get for her today and she gave me her order, so I called it to Joe (the other barista on duty). After calling the drink, I proceeded to continue what I was doing behind the counter. Once her drink was done, I let the woman know that she could pick it up at the other counter, so she went and got it.
As she was making her way out the door, I smiled at her and said, "Thank you ma'am, Have a great day" ...and her attitude completely changed! She looked at me and very enthusiastically said, "Thank you very much. You too!" and walked on out. An entire attitude change from just a smile!
Its so nice to be able to have that kind of effect on someone's day, knowing that I might just have made their day a little bit better with a simple smile. Who knew? Make sure you smile at the next person you encounter...you never know what it will do for them... :]

Summer Nights....late summer nights

One of the the things that I love the most about summer is being able to stay up so late at night, and just sleep longer during the day. I myself seem to work better at night (which is really weird). At night I feel like being alot more productive; I read, I write stuff; I even recorded and mixed down a 4 minute instrumental all in one night after a Groundfloor because I wanted to.
I don't know what it is about nighttime, but I love it, and during the summertime, its even better because I don't have to wake up early or be coherent at all until at least 2 PM. Sometimes I play video games all night, sometimes I watch movies, sometimes I stay on the phone with Alley, and sometimes (last night) I read, which is a miracle because I NEVER read...at least not out of my own motivation. And even if I do want to read, I usually can't read the books I want to read, because I am stuck reading boring books assigned to me from English class. All I gotta say is
I LOVE ME SOME SUMMER!!! :D

"Praise The Lord!"

This year, I'm spending my 4th of July in Florida, but not for what you might expect. Just this past thursday, my Grandpa passed away at the ripe old age of 90 (he was almost 91). So I came down to join those others of us who were close to him for a memorial service. Although it was small, the service was great because it offered each of us to talk about Grandpa and share our stories and memories of him. There was also a great video done by my cousin Charlie, of some pictures of Grandpa and such. It was awesome to get together with this side of my family, seeing as how I haven't seen many of them in years. I got to catch up with my sister too, see my nephew and my nieces, and my cousins.

I'm really happy for my Grandpa because he had such an amazing life. He is probably the only man I have ever known who has so embodied what a true Christian could be, because his actions and his character resembled those of Jesus. My Grandpa was a great man. I hope that I can go through my life the way that he went through his: praising God in everything he did, never saying anything negative about others, and always turning something that could be negative into something positive. I love you Grandpa. Have fun up there :]

No Place Like Home

Wilma! I'm Home!!!
Well I'm home from Arizona. Camp Native America was the best! I have never had so much fun being covered in dirt along with a bunch of sassy kids in the middle of the Arizona desert. The people there were some of the nicest I had ever met, and everyone worked in almost perfect unity: it was amazing!
Although I was assigned to work with the 3-5 year olds (who were the BEST GROUP EVER by the way), Bishop Hutch had me assigned to the stage working on the sound system and helping with construction around there. I got to work with two of the coolest older guys ever: Tio and Mr. Greg! They were so patient with me and let me help with alot of the carpentry work that needed to be done around the camp.
During the times that I actually did get to work with my age group, I had a blast. The kids were so awesome! Even though they were so tiny and talked so quiet, they were great. Ms. Delia was the main teacher, and she was so nice to me...just about the best lady I've ever worked with. Ms. June was a teacher too. She was from Canada :]. I also worked with Devin and Dustin. It was great.
My favorite part was probably being able to spend alot of time talking with Bishop about all sorts of stuff, and listening him speak awesome things into my life. It was so tight because it almost seemed like I was his right hand man or something.
Ok...my REAL favorite part, was just being at camp with all the kids and adults. I can't even describe why it was so good, it just was. I guess its just one of those "you had to be there" things....but really, you had to be there. It was just great!

Anyways, I'm home now, and I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with my life now that I'm not with my favoritest Navajo kiddies. Oh well, I'll find something to do.

Peace!
